Welcome! By connecting to our Wi-Fi network, you agree to the following terms designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and secure internet experience for all guests. Internet goes down around 1am - 4am nightly for scheduled maintenance and tests. Internet is not guaranteed.
Encrypted Browsing: All DNS traffic is encrypted using DNS-over-HTTPS via CIRA Canada Shield. This helps prevents your browsing activity from being monitored by our Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Ad & Tracker Blocking: The network uses Filtering to block ads, trackers, and known malicious domains.
Content Filtering: To maintain network integrity and guest privacy, certain categories are blocked, including:
Adult content
Torrenting platforms
Known malware/phishing domains
Some websites may break from this please report them to use so we can resolve them.
DNS Logging: DNS requests are logged by Pi-hole, AdGuard, and Unifi equipment for troubleshooting and to prevent important sites from being blocked. Logs are not tied to personal identity and are only used to maintain a functional and safe network. DNS requests are just simply the website URL nothing more for example Google.com or Spectrum.net.
Geo IP Filtering: The Ubiquiti network equipment is configured with Geo IP filtering, which blocks traffic from and to certain high-risk or restricted countries. This helps prevent unauthorized access, spam, scanning attempts, and other malicious activity from outside the region.
Note: This may cause issues with some international services or platforms that rely on foreign servers.
VPN Use: Most consumer VPNs are blocked. Business or work-related VPNs might have an issue as well but should mostly function.
VPN: All Traffic after being filtered is sent via A VPN server in Dallas, TX for further Privacy and Security.
Speed Limits: Internet is capped at 25 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. This is sufficient for video streaming, browsing, and remote work, but very large downloads/uploads may be slow. Can be lowered to 10 Mbps down to .5 Mbps up if main ISP fails and we are on backup internet.
Device Limits: Please limit to 2 devices per guest. More devices can connect, but may cause slower speeds for everyone. (Please note: no more than 10 device can connect at one time Not including the TVs)
Expected Use: The network is designed for general browsing, streaming, and work. High-bandwidth activities such as 4K streaming, large cloud backups, or massive downloads will not perform well.
Guests may not use the network for:
Illegal activity of any kind (copyright infringement, hacking, malware distribution, Illegal Adult Sites, Etc.)
Attempting to bypass filtering or network restrictions. This is blocked any attempt to do so will make it so internet access wont be provided until reverted on your device
Commercial or high-bandwidth uses (e.g., hosting servers, crypto mining)
Unauthorized streaming/IPTV services that may violate content agreements.
Devices that are flagged with malicious intent be it yours or a compromised phone of yours will be disconnected.
⚠️ Any activity that risks suspension of our internet service by the ISP may result in disconnection from the Wi-Fi. Anything that goes against the terms above also can result it being disconnected.
Dynamic IPs Only: No port forwarding or static IPs are available.
DHCP Renewal: Devices receive a new IP lease every 30 minutes. This is automatic and should not interrupt normal use.
Idle Timeout: Devices may disconnect after 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve bandwidth.
Guest Isolation: Devices on the guest Wi-Fi are isolated from each other for security.
Traffic Monitoring: Only general traffic patterns (bandwidth, device count, DNS queries) are monitored. No personal browsing content is inspected or shared.
Use of this Wi-Fi network is at your own risk. The host is not responsible for data loss, compromised accounts, or damages that may occur while connected. Guests are responsible for ensuring their own devices have up-to-date security protection.
